interior design Eight Acres building
ENG
Deep in the Malaysian outback, surrounded by jungle and plantations, Eight Acres realized a building for corporate trainings and other group activities. We were given the chance to fit the building with an inspiring interior. The ground floor area makes use of natural materials found in the direct surroundings: clay, bamboo and plants. The sanitary area feels ‘raw’ and yet comfortable with a combination of clay and cement. Privacy and ventilation in the bathroom is provided through a custom designed fence that allows the growth of vegetation. On request each guest room is given a functional theme and makes them the only place in the complex that allows the visitors to escape from nature, providing an intense feeling of ‘being in a different context’. All the themes are inspired by the settings of an art-gallery: White Room, Clay Room, Dali’s Room, Geography Room, Laughter Room and a Cardboard Room and most materials that are used are recycled.
